I am starting a thread for discussion about "swine flu" which has been declared "pandemic" by WHO.

"Pandemic" is a term which means presence or occurrence of an infectious disease in many countries across the world covering huge geographical area.

Swine flu was known as "red flu" when there was epidemic of swine flu in erstwhile Soviet Union and China. Because Those countries were communist countries.

Any disease, especially viral disease like swine flu that spreads by respiratory route has very high secondary infection rate. This is the reason why swine flu spreads fast to become pandemic.

Luckily there are no reports of swine flu in my state. Few months back there were some reports but at present there is no incidence of swine flu.
